Glasgow Kingston Bridge broken down car causes four-mile long tailback

Commuters have been met with traffic chaos this morning due to a broken down car on the Kingston Bridge.

The incident has sparked a four-mile long tailback and delays of upto 25 minutes for drivers heading westbound.

One lane of the M8 motorway is currently blocked as a result of the broken down vehicle.

Traffic is queued from the bridge right back to Junction 13 (M80 Provan interchange).

Traffic information site INRIX issued an alert about the queues this morning, which read: "One lane blocked and queueing traffic for four miles due to broken down vehicle on M8 Kingston Bridge Westbound between J19 A814 Stobcross Street (Anderston Cross) and J20 (M74 Interchange).

Congestion to J13 (M80 Provan interchange). Travel time is 25 minutes. Lane two (of two) is blocked."
