Glasgow is the second noisiest place to live in the UK, according to a new study

Glasgow is the second noisiest place in the whole of the UK to live, according to a new study.

If your neighbours have ever kept you awake at night with parties and dogs barking, or interrupted a Sunday morning lie-in with a lawnmower, then you're certainly not alone.

According to FOI data, 20,521 noise complaints have been filed in Glasgow in the past three years, giving it the silver title in the Noisy City League.

Glasgow was beaten by Leeds, which had a whopping 27,316 complaints, and was closely followed by Belfast, Birmingham and Manchester respectively.

Meanwhile, the UK's five quietest cities and downs are Reading, Wolverhampton, Northampton, Stoke-on-trent and Luton.

We might make a racket up here, but we're also the second-friendliest city in the UK and we were named a global events and festivals destination at this year's World Travel Awards. Why would you leave?

The study was carried out by CompareMyMove.com , which you can read in full HERE .
