'Glasgow is f****** crazy' Foo Fighters' Chris Shiflett prepares for Classic Grand gig

Glasgow holds a special place in Chris Shiflett's heart - so you can bet your bottom dollar he's looking forward to a special intimate gig in the city tomorrow night.

The rockstar is currently out on the road for a European tour ahead of the release of new album Hard Lessons in June.

Perhaps better known for his other job - lead guitarist for the Foo Fighters, in case you didn't know - Chris' solo projects have been catching the attention of more than a few music fans across the globe in recent years.

Meaning if you've got tickets for the Classic Grand on Friday (April 5) you're in for one helluva show!

Glasgow Live was lucky enough to have a chat with the rocker ahead of the tour and, to be honest, we've not come back down to earth quite yet.

But it turns out, this city's love for him is completely mutual.

He told us: "A lot of shows stand out to me in my career, especially UK ones.

"And one of them for sure is the first time I ever played the Barrowlands - that was f****** crazy!!

"I remember this kid came to the back door, and he had this big welt across his face.

"He said he'd been standing at the train station on his way to the gig and somebody f****** clipped him with a bat and took his tickets.

"This teenager had still made his way to the show, and he'd come to ask us if we can get in.

"I thought goddamn it, that's commitment, that's what I love."

Born in Santa Barbara and now based in Los Angeles, Chris is known as one of best lead guitarists in the world.

But even he's had to put the work in with his projects outwith the iconic group, who are set to headline Summer Sessions at Bellahouston Park - full line up and how to get tickets.

He added: "Believe you me, my solo tours lean more on the intimate side.

"I enjoy it though, playing in a bar or a small club is a very different experience to playing a big stadium or a festival.

"They're all great, but when you can see the whites of some eyes, can smell their breath and feel the sweat coming off the crowd? That's very immediate.

"I gotta say though, I've done a lot of solo tours over the years but I'm really excited about this UK one because for the first time ever, a lot of these shows are selling out in advance.

"We've had a different response to the songs we've put out, it's just exciting and I am really looking forward to it."

Chris Shiflett performs at the Classic Grand tomorrow, April 5.
