Glasgow Indian restaurant crowned 'fine dining of the year' at 2022 award ceremony

A hugely popular Glasgow Indian restaurant has been crowned with yet another award during the Prestige Scotland Awards 2022 which were held in the Capital this week.

Taking to social media on Monday (October 18), head chef and owner Ajay Kumar announced the great news and comes as the eatery, Swadish, have already scooped several awards this year alone including 'Scottish Spice Curry Championships Chef of the Year' - an award he also won in 2021.

In addition to this, they have also managed to take home the title of 'Best Indian Restaurant in Scotland' as part of the Food Awards Scotland 2022 which saw other Glasgow establishments win in their category for their hard work and dedication.

Writing on Instagram the eater, located in Merchant City, said: "We have been Awarded with "Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year" by Prestige Scotland Awards in Edinburgh today. This is such a Prestigious accolade and we are thrilled to have won.

"Prestige SME awards recognises businesses for the innovative, successful and consistent products/services. This is such an amazing organisation helping small/family run business to be recognised on national level.

"We thank you all who nominated Swadish By Ajay Kumar. We cannot thank you enough for your phenomenal Love and Support."

In response to the news, many people flooded to the comments with one saying: "Well done chef Ajay and team. Big congratulations."

Another added: "Congratulations chef."

"Congratulations. Well deserved" wrote a third.
