Glasgow house fire being treated as deliberate as police launch probe

Police have launched an investigation into a fire that occurred at a house in the Ibrox area last night.

The fire, which took place at a property on Copland Road late last night, is being treated as deliberate.

Officers alongside fire and ambulance crews raced to the scene after the alarm was raised around 10:30pm, with the road cordoned off by police while firefighters battled the blaze.

No-one was injured and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers received report of a fire within a property on Copland Road in Glasgow around 10.30pm on Friday, 9 April, 2021.

“No-one was injured and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

“The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.”
