Glasgow hotel evacuated after 'smoke' seen coming from bathroom

A hotel in the city centre has been evacuated following reports of a fire inside the building.

Guests and staff at the DoubleTree by Hilton on Cambridge Street were forced to flee the building around 6.55pm after the alarm was raised.

Five fire engines were sent to the scene after smoke was seen in one of the bathrooms.

Crowds could be standing outside the hotel while the incident was dealt with.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson confirmed five crews were sent to the scene after 'smoke was seen in one of the toilets'.
