Glasgow Hootenanny closes after member of staff tests positive for coronavirus

Glasgow Hootenanny has temporarily closed after a staff member tested positive for coronavirus.

The city centre pub announced on social media that it is currently undergoing a deep clean and has made the decision to shut.

Hootenanny has confirmed it will reopen when they can ensure the safety of members of staff and customers visiting the venue.

In a statement on Facebook, they said: "We have been informed this morning that one of our staff members at Glasgow Hootenanny has tested positive for Covid-19.

"As a precaution we are closing our door temporarily to allow us to carry out a specialised deep clean and ensure the safety of our staff and customers, as this is our priority.

"We will be in touch in due course and we look forward to seeing you all again soon."

It comes after BarBrett and The Spiritualist both temporarily closed after coronavirus cases were linked to the bars.
