Glasgow homeless charity issues call out for food donations from local cafes and restaurants

A Glasgow homeless charity has issued a call to local cafes and restaurants to donate much needed food to help feed the people they support amid the coronavirus crisis.

Emmaus Glasgow, based in the Hamiltonhill area, operates a residential community for men and women who are rebuilding their lives following homelessness and social exclusion.

Working closely with other organisations in the area to to help them to develop skills and self-respect through working and contributing.

And they are asking business owners who might be worried about food that will perish to send it their way to help support their 29 residents.

The charity, posted on their Facebook page that they "would welcome any help that we can get and would be extremely grateful for any donations of food" following the closure of their retail charity shops in the city and with a lot of things out of stock at the wholesalers.
