Glasgow homeless charity desperately needs a van to keep soup kitchen going

A charity running a free soup kitchen for people sleeping rough in Glasgow’s city centre have lost the use of their van and appealed for help.

All2gethernow is run by volunteers who collect clothing and toiletries for Glasgow’s less fortunate, as well as taking food out to the city centre at night.

Their previous wheels, a camper van donated by a volunteer, had to be sold following problems with its MOT last year , leaving All2gethernow without a mobile soup kitchen.

Now, they’re hoping to replace it with a smaller van, for easier access, whether that means finding an unused vehicle that can be donated or raising the cash to buy one.

Volunteer Kirsty Steele told Glasgow Live : “There was loads of stuff going wrong with the old van and we were forking out money for repairs that we didn’t really have.

“The motor home wasn’t great for on the street - we just need a small one to take our stuff in and out.

“We just desperately need the help to get us a new van, as well as any more clothing and food donations.”

The charity has created a gofundme page in the hopes of sorting out new transportation - and anyone interested in lending a further hand can find out more on the All2gethernow Facebook page
