Glasgow hit and run horror as lollipop man mowed down outside primary school

Police in Glasgow have launched an investigation after after a lollipop man was left with a broken arm after being mowed down outside a primary school.

The driver sped off from the scene following the collision, which took place on Sunnybank Street near to Riverbank Primary School in the Dalmarnock area on Thursday of last week (September 2).

The victim, who is believed to be in his late-60s, was helping a mother and child across the road when he was struck by the vehicle, The Daily Record reports.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment following the arrival of the emergency services.

Police enquiries are ongoing to identify and trace the vehicle involved.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Officers are investigating a report that a man was injured by a vehicle which collided with him and failed to stop. Enquiries are ongoing to identify and trace the vehicle involved."
