Glasgow High Street incident: Boy, 14, dies in hospital after incident at train station

A 14-year-old boy has died following an incident at Glasgow High Street station earlier today.

Officers were called to High Street around 3.45pm on Saturday, 16 October, following a report that a teenager had been seriously injured.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Detective Inspector Iain Nelson of Greater Glasgow Division said: “This has been a shocking loss of a young life and a significant investigation is underway.

“Specialist officers are supporting the boy’s family at this incredibly difficult time. Enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances and anyone who can help is urged to get in touch as soon as possible.”

Those who were in the area at the time, or have information which may be relevant, can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2280 of Saturday, 16 October.
