Glasgow gym hosts epic lifting challenge to raise money for men's mental health charity

Finding it hard to motivate yourself to get up and get active? Can’t be bothered with the gym today?

Well, Glasgow, we've found a friendly and fun solution that contributes to a fantastic cause!

Future Fitness gym in Glasgow is hosting an epic charity event next month geared towards reinforcing the importance of men’s mental health, a real and present issue that affects countless people in one way or another.

The aim of the event is to lift one million kilograms in just 12 hours… piece of cake!

No specific level of fitness or training is required, simply head along and do what you can.

On site, there will be experienced trained coaches to ensure everyone’s safety, so no need to panic if it’s your first time fling with a weight.

There will also be Mental Health Workshops in action throughout the day, and a talk from the event’s guest speaker Fraser Smith, an aspiring counselling psychologist and the founder of Get Psyched.

As well as this, protein powder specialists Optimum Nutrition will be on the scene as fatigue fighters, supplying nutritional supplements to keep everyone going, and there will be ongoing raffles during the event in order to raise money for the Brothers In Arms charity group for men’s mental wellbeing.

Whilst the event lasts 12 hours, you can stay for as little or as long as you like - but organisers say the important thing is that you get involved.

Whether it’s half an hour or half a day, every bit of help will be greatly appreciated!

The event will take place on Saturday, August 10, and you can find out more here.
