Glasgow Green cordoned off after 16-year-old girl seriously sexually assaulted

Glasgow Green has been cordoned off to the public following the serious sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl last night.

Emergency services attended the scene near East Footway of Kings Drive in the city's east end after receiving reports of the incident at around 7.50pm.

Police Scotland have confirmed that an ongoing investigation has been launched into the incident.

A section of Glasgow Green remains cordoned off to the public today while officers continue their enquiries.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "An investigation is under way following the serious sexual assault of a 16-year-old female in Glasgow Green on Saturday, 15 August 2020.  Enquiries are ongoing.

"Police were contacted around 7:50pm.   The incident occurred in an area near the East Footway of Kings Drive."
