Glasgow gran wows with impressive skill 'playing baws' and it's taking plenty of us down memory lane

There's nothing better than reminiscing back on our childhood days.

Chappy, hidey, kerbie, and playing baws are just some of the past-times that kept us all busy.

For one Drumchapel-born-and-bred gran, she's still keeping up her practice - and by now she surely must be the best on her street!

Alice Millar, 51, wowed her fellow Glaswegians when her grandkids filmed her playing baws in the garden and uploaded it to a local Facebook page, Glasgow Born and Raised.

She deftly catches the ball every time, even doing a burly and from her back and through her legs - we wouldn't be surprised if she had her eyes closed!

And of course the video went viral - attracting a number of comments from others who used to spend hours playing baws in the garden and up closes.

Jeanette Barrett said: "I played this for hours against the steamie wall!"

Patrick McAdam said: "Like a lot of things now, a dying art ,was a very common game back in the day weans playing this game everywhere."

Irene Mooney said: "Well done Alice, brings back lovely memories. I used to do this from morning to night when I was young!"

Alice told Glasgow Live: "I played baws for hours on end growing up in Drumchapel. I would go from close to close as some neighbours would come out and say 'Away from here we can't hear the telly for bump bump bump'!

"So then I would play in the school shed of Ladyloan Primary School. I'm trying to teach my grandkids how to play now but my grandson was laughing and so was my daughter when they were videoing and I done a birly.

"I grew up Drumchapel then got married and moved to Auchinairn. I've lived here ever since.

"Back then that kept me and my pals occupied mostly all day and we never had much else."

"I'm glad it has been bringing lots of memories back for folk".
