Glasgow gets beautiful new Japanese yakitori food shack serving grilled meats cooked over coal

There's little doubt lots of us Glaswegians love a bit of Japanese food and thankfully there's plenty of choice across the city.

Whether you're a fan of fresh sushi or perhaps you get a weekly craving for katsu, these days there's Japanese restaurants, takeaways and Asian supermarkets stocking delicious East Asian fare throughout Glasgow.

And southsiders can now celebrate the arrival of a beautiful new yakitori shack that popped up in Shawlands for the first time this weekend, which serves 'hand-picked local produce brought to life over Binchotan charcoal from Japan'.

Appearing at the site of the excellent Park Lane Market - which we featured recently on Glasgow Live - those lucky enough to try the new traditional-looking BBQ skewer spot have raved about it, with social media abuzz with pictures of delicious looking Japanese cuisine.

Mouthwatering meats from Yakitori Shack (Yakitori Shack)

Commenting on the stunning shack itself, one person even said: "Looking great! Reminds me of Japan!!".

For those who know their Japanese food, the Yakitori Shack will be serving up yakitori (or Japanese-style grilled skewered chicken), yakiyasai for vegetarians as well as a number of speciality skewers.

Meanwhile, there's rice bowls and noodle plates too, as well as the likes of salads on their small plates menu.

The Yakitori Shack currently lists their opening hours as Friday to Sunday and is based at Shawlands' Park Lane Market, 974 Pollokshaws Rd, Glasgow G41 2HA. Park Lane Market trades on the first and last weekend of every month.

For all updates in the meantime, to find out more and for a sneak peek at their delicious meats, make sure to give them a follow on Instagram here.
