Glasgow freshers can get two free pints of Tennent's tomorrow

Calling all Glasgow students! If you fancy a beer tomorrow, you're in luck.

That's because much-loved Glasgow lager Tennent's are offering freshers the chance to get two free pints tomorrow (Wednesday), as well as a tour of their historic Wellpark Brewery.

Students are being invited to head behind the scenes of the iconic beer, covering everything from its origins, production and provenance.

Tennent's say: "Students will be invited for the tour alongside getting to test their skills at pouring their own pints.

"The tour ends at the tasting experience, which is home to one of the only Tennent’s Tank lager installations – serving up brewery fresh pints of Tennent’s from the impressive copper tanks filled with unpasteurised liquid brewed only a few hundred meters away.

"Additionally, one problem freshers always face is keeping a hold of their belongings amongst the chaos of halls. To help alleviate this, Tennent’s is offering 20% off personalised pint glasses giving your new flat mates no excuses! There will also be 20% off all items in the Tennent’s shop inside the visitor centre at Wellpark with a valid student card.

Alan McGarrie, group brand director for Tennent’s Lager, added: “There are thousands of students beginning university in Glasgow, and we wanted to welcome them in with open arms. There is a deep-rooted history of the city throughout our tours and it is an exciting opportunity to showcase this to students who will be making Glasgow their home for the next few years.”

The free tours will be during an open day on Wednesday 2 October from 3:30pm – 7:30pm available to a limited number of students on a first come first served basis. Students must be 18 years of age or over and have a valid ID and student card to be shown on arrival.  To book a slot (plus one) call the visitor centre on 0141 202 7145 and quote “Tennent’s Freshers’ Day”.
