Glasgow food: Five places offering free or discounted kids meals over half term holidays

For many children and parents in Glasgow, the spring half term holidays will soon begin.

The holidays start on Monday February 14 (Valentine's Day) and will end on the 16th which falls on a Wednesday.

The holidays can prove difficult for some, with many trying to figure out ways to keep their kids entertained.

Luckily there seems to be several things that you can do in Glasgow that won't break the bank - and one of them involves food.

So what places will be offering free or discounted kids meals over half term?

Yo! Sushi

From Monday February 14 until Friday the 25th, you can visit Yo! and pick up any main, a side of edamame beans and a drink from the Kids Meal Deal menu and get it completely free when an adults spends £10.

This deal is not available on the weekend.

Morrisons Café

If you have a local Morrisons cafe nearby, you can pop by the supermarket to 'Feed the Family' for £10.

The deal includes two adult mains, two kids mains and four drinks.

The cost of just £10 means that parents can save up to £13 by taking advantage of these deals.

The deal will run throughout the half-term break though it is unknown when it will end.

People can chose from hand-battered fish and chips, lasagne, jacket potatoes and burgers, as well as drinks such as soft drinks or coffee.

For the kids, the offer includes smaller portions of chicken nuggets or macaroni cheese along with drinks such as Tropicana or milk.

Children will also receive a piece of fruit and a snack alongside their main meals.

Bar and Block

They stated that their All-You-Can-Eat buffet breakfast starts at £9.50 where two kids under 16 eat for free with every adult breakfast meal purchased.

Taking to their website, Bar and Block have said that two kids can eat for free at their unlimited breakfast bar.

They said: "Our unlimited all-you-can-eat breakfast has got everything covered. A Full English with freshly cooked bacon, fluffy hash browns, succulent sausages and eggs just how you like them; plus there’s a wide array of continental breakfast options available too. And don’t forget, two kids always eat free.

"What’s more, our breakfast is available for everyone, not just those staying at our Premier Inn locations and we serve up brekkie until 10:30am midweek and 11am at the weekend. What better way to kick start your day!"

Marks and Spencer Café

From Monday February 14 until Friday February 25 when a customer spends £5 or over in the café, they will be able to claim a kids main, snack, fruit and drink for free.

This applies to all cafes in England, Scotland and Wales.

Frankie and Benny's

The popular restaurant chain has said that kids can get a drink, a main and a dessert all for the low price of £5.90.

Taking to their website they said: "Just like our main menu, our brand-new kids’ menu has had a little lockdown glow up of its own. We’ve adapted some of your Frankie’s favourites into mini, kid-friendly versions – so the whole family leaves satisfied, every time.

"If your little one is an Italian aficionado, they’ll love our Mamma’s Meatballs. If they’re more of a “don’t fix it if it’s not broken” kind of kiddo, our Grilled Chicken Bites remain utterly delicious. And if there’s a little vegan in the house, the Vegan Plantball Burger, or our crispy Jackfruit nuggets are true crowd pleasers.

"If they can finish all that, dessert is definitely in order – our Twisted Ice Cream Cake is going to be a winner this summer."
