Glasgow fire crews tackle late-night blaze at building in Kinning Park area

Fire crews in Glasgow were called to tackle a blaze that broke out in a building in the Kinning Park area in the early hours of this morning.

Three fire engines raced to the scene of the incident on Stanley Street after the alarm was raised around 1:15am.

On arrival they discovered an unoccupied single-storey building on fire.

A video taken by a member of the public near the scene shows flames leap from the building as thick black smoke pours into the night sky above.

Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control, although one appliance remained at the scene until midday today for salvage and dampening down purposes.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "We got a call at 1:15am this morning to reports of a single-storey building on fire.

"Three appliances were dispatched to the scene and the fire was brought under control. One appliance remained in attendance until 12pm today. There are no casualties."
