Glasgow fans 'camping' outside Barrowlands ahead of gig amid Storm Barra weather warning

Concern has been directed towards gig-goers 'camping out' at the Barrowlands as Storm Barra heads for Glasgow.

People have taken to social media in their droves to warn the music fans against the move - which they are doing in the hope of securing a spot at the barrier for English musician Yungblud's show at the iconic venue this evening (December 7).

It comes as Glasgow and Scotland is braced for stormy weather with the arrival of Storm Barra - with weather warnings for snow, wind and rain issued by the Met Office.

That doesn't seem to have put off fans heading to the show tonight, one of whom took to Twitter last night to share what arrangements were in place for "anyone planning on camping for Yungblud in Glasgow tomorrow".

The tweet detailed that around nine fans had already started camping yesterday but were advised by the venue not to continue to do so through the night "for their own safety" and due to the bad weather and lack of suitable shelter outside the Barrowlands.

As a result camping was paused last night and was expected to resume this morning around 6am/7am.

One gig-goer has since tweeted from outside the venue around 7am this morning that they are currently camping outside the venue with eight others.

They wrote: "9 people crammed in a 4man tent outside barrowlands watching naked attraction."

Plenty of Glaswegians have taken to Twitter to respond to tweets by those camping or intending to camp outside the venue for the gig tonight amid the cold weather.

One person wrote: "Grown adults camping for the Barrowlands is genuinely one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen".

And another responded: "I don't know what's worse, the fact they're camping for a gig during a storm in December in a rough part of Glasgow for no discernible reason, or the fact that they're camping for a Yungblud gig."

They were joined by another warning against camping who replied: "Take it from an experienced gigger, who lived not too far from the Barrowlands. Seriously, go home. You'll feel stupid when you get in."

Yungblud is also performing at the Barrowlands tomorrow evening (December 8).
