Glasgow family pleads 'please come home, we love you' as search stepped up for missing man

The family of a missing man from Castlemilk have made a heart wrenching statement as the search for Barry McCullagh continues.

The 40-year-old was lasted spotted nearly two weeks ago on October 5 close to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, on Corsebar Road in Paisley at around 5.20pm.

Barry is described as 5ft 9ins of medium build with short, black hair and was seen wearing navy jogging trousers, a black jumper with a zip, and silver trainers.

In a statement issued through police, Barry's family said: "Barry, if you can see this message, please, please come home.

"You are not in any trouble.

"Just get a taxi home from wherever you are and we will pay the fare when you get here. We just want you home safe and well - we love you loads.

"We would appeal to anyone who may know of Barry's whereabouts to please contact police."

There is still a large police presence in the area as efforts to trace the man continue.

Chief Inspector Damian Kane, area commander for Renfrewshire, said: "Almost two weeks have passed since Barry was last seen and his family remain extremely concerned about him.

"From our enquiries, we know the last sighting of Barry was around 5.20pm on Wednesday, October 5, near to the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

"If you were in the area at the time, please think back, did you notice anyone matching his description?

"If anyone has seen Barry, or has any information as to his whereabouts, please contact police as a matter of urgency.

"We do not believe Barry will have travelled far and would again urge people who live in the area to check outbuildings and sheds."

Anyone who has information on the 40-year-old's whereabouts is being urged to contact 101 quoting reference 3910 of October 5, 2022.
