Glasgow events venue hosting Halloween Zombie Walk and Lantern Procession this weekend

A Halloween Zombie Walk and Lantern Procession is being held on the banks of the Forth & Clyde Canal this weekend.

The event, organised by Glasgow performance and events venue Carnival Arts Yard as part of the COP26 at Glasgow Canal programme, will also feature live music, dance, installations and workshops.

Highlights include dance routines choreographed by Manuela Benini and Indepen-dance. Soundtrack provided by Brass, Aye?

Organisers say the Zombie Walk and lantern procession will help 'Shine a Light' on the climate crisis and 'highlight the issues around climate change in the most enjoyable and carnivalesque way possible'.

Everything kicks off at 4pm this coming Sunday (October 31), with the walk and procession departing at 4.30pm from the canal by the Garscube Link Bridge before heading through Applecross Basin towards Rockvilla (National Theatre of Scotland).

Organisers are asking those planning on attending to bring their own torches and lanterns, as well as their best costumes and ideas, to help 'celebrate the classic Scottish tradition of Halloween in style as the whole world watches Glasgow'.
