Glasgow Ed Sheeran fans face travel chaos with no trains to city centre after Hampden gig

Thousands of Ed Sheeran fans heading to Hampden Park tomorrow and Friday for his much anticipated gigs face travel chaos getting home.

ScotRail have confirmed there will be no trains from the nearest station to the national stadium - Mount Florida - back to Glasgow Central after the gig.

The rail operator added there will only be a few trains running out of Glasgow city centre after 11pm.

There will be extra train carriages from Glasgow Central to Mount Florida and Kings Park, from midday until Ed Sheeran is due on stage, on both Thursday and Friday, they confirmed.

The lack of trains post-gig is due to the temporary timetable ScotRail has put in place amid the current driver pay dispute.

As a result of the disruption, ScotRail are urging folk travelling to Hampden for the Ed Sheeran gigs to plan their journeys in advance.

ScotRail tweeted: "If you’re going to Ed Sheeran at Hampden Park this week plan your journeys in advance. ScotRail is adding extra carriages to as many trains as possible from Central to Mount Florida and Kings Park, the closest stations to Hampden, from midday until Ed Sheeran is due on stage.
