Glasgow east end street cordoned off by police after daylight assault

A street in Glasgow's east end has been cordoned off by police after a man was assaulted.

Emergency services were called to the Gallowgate area around 6.40pm after the incident unfolded.

Police officers are patrolling the road and a cordon has been erected, reports the Daily Record.

The injured man was been taken to hospital for a head injury after reportedly being assaulted.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “We were called around 6.40pm on Tuesday, 19 April, to a report of an assault in the Gallowgate area of Glasgow.

"A man has been taken to hospital with a head injury and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
