Glasgow drivers warned of delays after crash on M8 motorway


Drivers in Glasgow using the M8 motorway are being warned of delays to their journey following a road traffic accident.

The crash has occurred on the M8 Westbound at Junction 27 (Arkleston) near to Glasgow Airport.

Police and emergency services are at the scene.

Traffic Scotland have confirmed that lanes one and two are closed with queues building on approach - with traffic tailed back to Junction 25A.

Delays of 30 to 35 minutes are expected.

A bulletin released by Traffic Scotland reads: "The M8 is restricted Westbound after Junction 27 due to a road traffic incident. Motorists are advised to exercise caution on approach and should be aware of possible delays to journey times."

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "We were called to reports of a two-car crash on the M8 motorway at Junction 27 around 12:40pm. The road is partially blocked and police and ambulance crews remain at the scene".
