Glasgow drivers warned as Byres Road to close for road resurfacing works

Drivers in Glasgow are advised to add additional time to their journeys if in the west end of the city this weekend due to some traffic restrictions that will be in place.

Road resurfacing works mean that Byres Road will be closed to southbound traffic between Highburgh Road and Lawrence Street on Saturday, with diversions in place on Highburgh Road, Hyndland Street, Dumbarton Road.

Northbound traffic is not affected by the traffic restrictions, which operate from 8am (June 26) until 4pm.

Meanwhile further road resurfacing works mean that traffic on Dumbarton Road will operate in an east / west direction only at the junction with Byres Road over the weekend, with the use of temporary traffic signals to control single file traffic flow.

Byres Road will be closed between Dumbarton Road and Torness Street, with Coopers Well Street also closed between Dumbarton Road and Benalder Street.

These restrictions will operate tomorrow and Sunday (June 27) from 8am to 4pm and on Monday (June 28) from 9:30am to 3:30pm.

Southbound traffic on Byres Road will be diverted down Church Street and westbound along Dumbarton Road.
