Glasgow drivers heading east warned as accident reduces M8 to one lane

The M8 has been reduced to one lane due to a road traffic collision.

The incident has taken place at Junction 3 of the motorway (Dechmont Interchange) near to Uphall station - and is likely to affect traffic heading east from Glasgow towards Edinburgh.

Traffic Scotland alerted drivers about the incident at 10:40am this morning.

They tweeted: "Lanes 1 & 2 are closed E/B at J3 due to an RTC. Traffic is getting past in the hard shoulder. TRISS on scene."

Meanwhile traffic update site INRIX reports: "Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M8 Eastbound from J3A A779 Carnegie Road (Bathgate) to J3 A899 Livingston Road (Livingston).

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.

UPDATE - All lanes now running.
