Glasgow demands action as 'children kicked unconscious and left in pools of blood'

A community activist has launched a petition demanding action is taken to address the amount of 'disturbing' youth violence unfolding on the streets of Glasgow.

Alex O'Kane, founder of the No1seems2care community group, has detailed terrifying incidents taking place across the city including children as young as 13 being targeted and left in 'pools of blood' and adults being attacked by teen gangs.

He also wants to warn parents about the dangers that currently exist in the city centre and educate kids on the dangers they may face. As well as launching the petition, Alex has also written to the Chief Constable of Police Scotland.

He explained: "In recent months, I have received dozens of videos, images and first-hand accounts which describe a disturbing culture of youth violence in Glasgow city centre. Children as young as 13-years-old have been kicked unconscious and left in pools of blood whilst the incidents are videoed and circulated on social media. Children should be safe in our city.

"There are several posts on the No1seems2care Facebook page which show images of some of these violent incidents. The videos are too graphic to show on a public platform. There are also first accounts from people in Glasgow city centre.

The petition has already attracted over 1,800 signatures and could eventually be discussed by MSPs who will decide how best to tackle the alleged 'culture of youth violence'.
