Glasgow daredevil spotted 'scooting' down the River Clyde on a hydrofoil board

You'd be forgiven for thinking we've got enough bizarre sights to marvel at in Glasgow at the moment with streets in the city centre turned into 1960s Manhattan for filming of the new Indiana Jones movie.

And yet just a stone's throw away at the River Clyde, there was something else - equally attention-worthy - that had one bystander scratching their head.

Stunned Andrew Magee spotted a man 'surfing' down the Clyde at speed by the Springfield Quay area atop a foil board or hydrofoil board - a surfboard that extends below the board into the water with a design that causes the board to leave the water's surface.

He shared the video of the daredevil on TikTok along with the caption: "Surfing down the Clyde WTF. People Make Glasgow".

It has since racked up over 36,000 views on the social media platform, generating some hilarious responses in the process.

One person wrote: "Back to the scheme", and another "One way to get to work in Glasgow".

Those comments were echoed by another who wrote: "All good till ye clip a trolley n face plant right in", while someone thought to reference the hoverboard scene that features in Back To The Future II with: "What in the Marty McFly kind of sh&* is this".

Just missing seeing a banana boat now on the Clyde...
