Enhanced covid testing is being rolled out in areas of Glasgow and vaccinations are being brought forward amid a spike in coronavirus cases across the city.
Glasgow was due to to be relaxed into Level 2 lockdown restrictions on Monday alongside the majority of mainland Scotland, however due to the detection of the Indian variant of the virus in the city - which could spread faster than other covid variants - it was decided Glasgow would remain in lockdown for at least another week.
Nicola Sturgeon is one of a number of politicians urging Glaswegians in affected areas to get tested as soon as possible in a bid to suppress the virus, with the hope the city's lockdown easing won't be delayed any further.
On Friday, after taking a Covid-19 test herself, the First Minister Tweeted: "If you live in - or have recently spent time in - the Southside of Glasgow, PLEASE help get this outbreak under control by taking a test."
In response to the latest calls to get tested and vaccinated and as Glaswegians await further updates on a possible extension to lockdown, we've reviewed the latest covid statistics impacting on our city.
