Covid cases in Scotland have soared in recent days, with an estimated one in 18 people reported to have had the virus.
In the latest figures on Friday (March 11), it was confirmed that 13,220 new positive tests were recorded, with 22 new reported deaths of people who have tested positive.
Twenty three people were in intensive care with recently confirmed coronavirus while 1,663 were in hospital.
In the wake of the sharp rise in cases, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will deliver a covid update to the Scottish Parliament. It will be the first update on the coronavirus pandemic by Ms Sturgeon in weeks and comes amid a huge spike in covid cases in recent days.
Glasgow has also seen a major rise in positive tests, with 2,900 confirmed in the city on Friday.
Meanwhile, Glasgow's seven-day rate of infection is also soaring, with Public Health Scotland creating a new 'dark purple' category for 800-plus cases in each neighbourhood.

Only 19 neighbourhoods in the city are not in the highest 'dark purple' category with the seven-day positive cases in the city currently at 6,771 and the seven-day positive rate per 100,000 at 1,065.2.
Summerston North currently has the highest case rate in the city at 2,133.3, followed by Merrylee and Millbrae (1.861.9) and Carmunnock North (1,641.1).
City Centre East has the lowest rates in the city with a case rate of 464.6 per 100,000 followed by Govanhill West at 521.6.
