Glasgow cops race to Buchanan Street and cordon off area amid 'incident'

Swarms of police descended on Buchanan Street in Glasgow in response to an ongoing incident.

Emergency services raced to the scene overnight as police worked to tape off part of the street.

Cordons were in place outside of the HSBC branch and Zara store near the St Enoch subway station.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known but it is understood that arrests have been made.

Police are no longer at the scene and left around 8am on Saturday morning.

Police Scotland have been contacted by the Daily Record for comment.
