Glasgow cops probe 'Govanhill child trafficking' allegations made in online videos

Police are probing allegations of child trafficking and exploitation in Glasgow after claims were made online.

Officers from Police Scotland said they are aware of videos circulating on social media about the Govanhill area of the city.

In a statement the nation-wide force urged anyone with information to come forward and contact cops.

A video which went viral was published online earlier this week alleging that child trafficking and exploitation takes place in the area.

A spokesperson from Greater Glasgow Police Division said: "Police Scotland is aware of videos circulating on social media in relation to Govanhill.

"The allegations presented in the video are being looked into.

"If anyone has any information relating to this then they should contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers online or call 0800 555 111."
