Glasgow cops cordon off street after reports of ‘assault’ with man arrested and charged

A police cordon has been put in place on a busy Glasgow road following reports of an assault.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Aikenhead Road in the city’s southside at around 2.35pm on Friday, June 18.

Enquiries were carried out by officers and a 51-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.35pm on Friday, 18 June, officers were called to Aikenhead Road in Glasgow, following a report of an assault.

“A 51-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is expected to appear in court on Monday, 21 June.”
