Glasgow COP26 summit job role offering £65k to 'manage influencers' publicising event

Calling all media savvy Glaswegians - the UK Government is on the lookout for someone to 'manage influencers' who will be publicising the COP26 summit happening at the SEC Centre in November.

And there's a cool £65,000 salary for the lucky person who is successful in securing the sought-after position.

The Cabinet Office has posted a job advert for a 'Relationship Manager - Influencers and Civil Society' to persuade global influencers to help it promote the high-profile event, reports the Daily Telegraph.

The Government is looking for someone to act as the "primary focal point for all the influencers we work with" as part of the role, which is set to begin in March - eight months before the eyes of the world turn on Glasgow.

The job advert notes: "You will identify events and other opportunities to publicly promote COP26 and climate action, tailored to the profile of each individual, drawing on the support of our diplomatic network."

The vital climate talks are expected to bring together the largest gathering of heads of state ever hosted in the UK.

Over 30,000 delegates - including climate experts, business leaders and citizens, meet to draw up a new climate change strategy - are also predicted to come to Glasgow for the summit.
