Glasgow congestion: Queuing traffic on M8 after accident leaves motorway partially blocked

Drivers heading eastbound on the M8 through Glasgow are being warned to expect delays as the motorway has been left partially blocked due to a three-car smash.

Traffic Scotland alerted road users to the incident, which took place on the M8 eastbound at Junction 17 (Woodside Viaduct) around 3:20pm. Traffic is slowing on approach.

They tweeted: "The #M8 partially blocked E/B at J17 due to an RTC. Traffic slowing on the approach.

Meanwhile travel information site INRIX report that traffic is queueing back to Junction 20 (M74 interchange).

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a crash involving three cars on the M8 at Junction 17 around 3.20pm on Saturday, 28 August.

“There were no reports of any injuries and those involved exchanged details.”
