Glasgow College students create coronavirus care packages for elderly during crisis

The City of Glasgow College Students' Association are creating care packages for elderly and vulnerable people during the growing coronavirus pandemic.

The organisation are aiming to raise £500 for to create the parcels, which will include toilet paper, soap, soup and pasta pots.

The Students' Association have created a JustGiving page to crowdfund the money needed.

A statement from the organisation reads: "Here at the Students’ Association at City of Glasgow College, we want to help our local area by providing essential items to the elderly and people in need during these difficult times.

"We will be creating care packs which will include toilet paper, soap and any other items that people may require.

"We will then deliver to local community groups in the Townhead Village Hall and St Mungo’s RC Church who work with elderly and vulnerable groups.

"We are asking you to donate to our Just Giving Page which will be open from today, until Tuesday 17th March. We will then aim to purchase these items, and distribute them on Thursday 19th March."

To donate money to the fundraiser, you can visit the JustGiving page here .
