Glasgow Clydeside Expressway three-car crash leaves traffic at standstill as two taken to hospital

Two people were taken to hospital late last night following a crash on the busy Clydeside Expressway near Finnieston.

As reported on Glasgow Live, traffic was at a standstill around 10.40pm with drivers warned to find an alternative route along the north bank of the River Clyde.

Today, police confirmed three cars were involved in a collision near the SEC around 9.45pm.

The road remained closed until 11.30pm and officers are keen to speak to anyone who say the incident take place.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.45pm on Thursday, 5 May, police were called to the A814 Clydeside Expressway, near to the SEC campus, following reports of a three-vehicle road crash.

“Two people were taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital as a precaution.

“The road was cleared around 11.30pm.

“Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing and any witnesses are urged to call police on 101, quoting reference 3593 of 5 May.”
