Glasgow Clydeside Expressway attack: Man rushed to hospital after assault near Riverside Museum

Police have launched an investigation after a man was attacked at the Clydeside Expressway in broad daylight.

Emergency services were called to the scene near the Riverside Museum earlier this afternoon and one lane of the Expressway was closed as a result.

Officers say they found a man on the road with injuries consistent with having been assaulted.

The 28-year-old was rushed to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is described as being in a stable condition.

Police are urging anyone with information or dash-cam footage to come forward.

A statement says: "We are appealing for witnesses after a man was found injured on the Clydeside Expressway.

"Around 1.50pm emergency services attended following the report of the man being found near the Riverside Museum with injuries consistent with having been assaulted.

"Lane one of the Clydeside Expressway was closed for a short time and re-opened around 2.30pm.

"The 28-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment where he remains in a stable condition."

Detective Sergeant Vincent Smith of Drumchapel CID said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances leading to the man being assaulted.

“We are keen to talk to anyone who might have been in the area and saw anything which they think might be relevant. Likewise, anyone who might have been driving and recording via a dashcam device I would urge you to please check your system for anything of relevance."
