Glasgow's Lord Provost appeals directly to businesses in city to donate equipment for frontline Council staff

Glasgow City Council have appealed directly to Glasgow's business community to donate equipment for their frontline staff to use amid the coronavirus crisis.

In a video published by the Council this afternoon, Lord Provost Philip Braat said: "In these incredibly difficult times we are appealing directly to our business community.

"Increased demands for important protective equipment used daily by our frontline staff like Care Workers means supplies all over the country are under real pressure.

"Please let us know if you have stock that you are able to donate to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.

"We are seeking unused and unopened supplies of plastic aprons, face masks, hand sanitisers and plastic gloves. Any donations should be made to Glasgow City Council".

Donations can be made to Glasgow City Council by emailing John.Paterson3@glasgow.gov.uk
