Glasgow City Chambers 'moved to England' after website gaffe

Glasgow's architecture has seen it stand in for other cities such as London, New York and even Gotham City in major film shoots in recent years.

And it seems that its similarity with other iconic places is also the cause for some confusion, something that was noticeable when an American cigar magazine mistook Dublin's Temple Bar for the Finnieston Strip.

Now a London-based research consultancy has done likewise, by wrongly indicating that Glasgow's City Chambers is located somewhere south of the border - and under the remit of Historic England.

The faux pas by Simetrica Jacobs was noticed by one social media user, who tweeted: "Are you aware that the hero image you've used for your 'Historic England' case study is a photo of the City Chambers in Glasgow?"

The image of the City Chambers in its full glory under a rare blue sky and accompanies an article on the work of the research consultancy in delivering a project for Historic England and their heritage sites.

Perhaps it was the cloudless sky that confused them into thinking it couldn't be Glasgow.

If so, we are inclined to forgive them.
