Glasgow City Chambers lit up with Batman signal as fans flock to catch a glimpse

Glasgow was lit up in honour of the Batman last night.

To mark Batman Day 2021, the iconic Bat-signal appeared on five mystery UK buildings throughout the evening including Glasgow's very own City Chambers.

A huge Bat-signal was projected onto the building between 9.30pm and 10pm with eagle-eyed fans flocking to the building to catch a glimpse.

Glasgow was chosen as it was used as a filming location for much anticipated The Batman, which will be released in 2022. The city was also used as a filming location for The Flash - also set for a 2022 release - which sees Michael Keaton reprise his role as the Defender of Gotham.

Six-year-old Thomas was one of the signal spotters. He said: I love Batman. He’s the best superhero there is!”

We previously reported how Glasgow is to once again double up as Gotham City for superhero movie Batgirl. principal footage for the HBO movie will take over the city streets in November, with directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (of Bad Boys 4 Life fame) landing in the city to scout out locations ahead of the shoot commencing.
