Glasgow city centre street closed as disturbance sees two men rushed to hospital

Two men were rushed to hospital following an incident outside the main entrance to Glasgow Central Station last night.

Police attended the scene following reports of a disturbance around 9:30pm.

Gordon Street was closed to all traffic between Hope Street and Renfield Street as police dealt with the incident.

Two men, aged 22 and 19, were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary following the incident for non life-threatening injuries.

Police have confirmed that officers are now following a positive line of enquiry.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "A report was received of a disturbance on Gordon Street in Glasgow around 9.30pm on Wednesday, 12 August.      

"Two men, aged 22 and 19, were treated at Glasgow Royal Infirmary following the incident for non life-threatening injuries.       

" Officers are following a positive line of enquiry."
