Glasgow city centre set for new Asian restaurant with plans for Dr Noodles' arrival

Glasgow City Centre could be set for a brand new Asian restaurant after a planning application was submitted to bring Dr Noodles to town.

Documents under consideration by Glasgow City Council would see the Blooms Flowers shop at 80 West Nile Street converted to Class 3 (food and drink use)

Proposals say: "This application seeks planning permission for a change of use at this unit from Class 1 to Class 3 with restricted cooking to allow for occupation of this unit by restaurant operator, Dr Noodles.

Documents go on to state: "The proposed cooking method is an electric induction range cooker ... Dr Noodles does not use oil for cooking as their noodles are cooked in an oil free sauce.

"The proposal will have a positive impact on the vitality and viability of this part of the city centre."

Meanwhile, the suggested opening hours are 10am - 10pm, seven days a week.

Drawings also detail 20 stools for seating, interspersed between 'bar shelves' within the venue.

Dr Noodles currently operates eateries across Scotland including in Dundee, Aberdeen and Stirling.

Their website describers their concept as: "Inspired by unique flavors of the East, Dr. Noodles Noodle Bar is proud to offer a healthy alternative to the modern diet. Our concept is simple—tasty noodles at a great price. What's not to love?

"Cooked to order, all our noodles are high in nutrients, low in fat, and always full of flavour. A combination of colours, proteins, and mouth-watering sauces, our menu incorporates only the freshest ingredients. Ordering is as simple as 1-2-3, and vegetarians are always welcome."
