Glasgow city centre's Wellington Street to close for resurfacing works

A main road in Glasgow city centre is to close for resurfacing works, Glasgow City Council have confirmed.

Works are due to be undertaken on Wellington Street, with the road to be closed between St Vincent Street and West Regent Street, including the West George Street junction.

The street will be shut to traffic between 8am on Saturday, November 16 and 6pm on Tuesday, November 19.

Diversions will be put in place.

Glasgow City Council's Traffic Control and Management team (TRAFFCOM) this morning advised: "Wellington Street closed between St Vincent Street and West Regent Street, including West George Street junction for essential carriageway resurfacing work, Saturday 16th November 2019 until Tuesday 19th November 2019 between 08.00hrs and 18.00hrs.

"Local access will be provided to West George Street between West Campbell Street and Hope Street."

Further city centre roads are due to be shut this weekend due to the George Square Christmas lights switch-on, on Sunday.
