Glasgow City Centre's Midland Street closed due to hanging railway cables

A Glasgow City Centre street has been closed as a result of hanging railway cables from the bridge above.

Glasgow City Council's Traffic Control and Management team (Traffcom) confirmed Midland Street has been temporarily shut off: "due to a hanging cable from the Railway Bridge Deck".

Midland Street is found underneath Glasgow Central Station, between Oswald Street and Jamaica Street.

Meanwhile, some First Bus services have been altered as a result.

First Glasgow Tweeted: "Due to insecure cables on Midland St the following diversion is in place Services 1, 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E, 2, and X4 towards Oswald street."

Access to the NCP car park on Midland Street has been retained.
