Glasgow city centre lane shut down as police probe rape of teenager

A Glasgow city centre lane has been shut down as police investigate reports of a teenager having been raped.

Police vehicles and officers remain on the scene at Renfrew Lane, between Hope Street and Renfield Street in the heart of the city, while police confirm they have received reports of a 17-year-old woman having been raped on Friday night.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Glasgow Live: "We are carrying out enquiries following a report of a 17-year-old woman having been the subject of a serious sexual assault in Glasgow, on the evening of Friday May 17."
