Glasgow City Centre bar Tabac plans expansion

Popular City Centre bar Tabac could soon be expanded.

An application submitted to Glasgow City Council reveals the Mitchell Lane venue's ambitious plans.

Owners of the bar hope to expand into the adjacent property, at 10A Mitchell Lane, which is presently occupied by DLC Hairdressing.

The proposals include for the salon to be changed into a public bar, with a walkthrough from the existing Tabac, a new fit out, mezzanine floor and spiral staircase.

Plans, produced by Paul Martin Designs on behalf of owners Cascio Ltd, also make reference to a 'new cocktail unit', hinting at what we can maybe expect from the future Tabac.

The current venue, previously Bar 10, sits across from The Lighthouse in the heart of the city centre and has become increasingly popular in recent years, delivering delicious European-style grub and carefully-crafted cocktails to packed out crowds on Friday and Saturday nights. Meanwhile, their Panther Milk Bar is renowned as a legendary weekend drinking spot.

Planning documents, validated by the Council this week, are currently with planners for consideration.
