Glasgow city centre attack: Police release CCTV images of man after High Street Station assault

Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with an attack in Glasgow city centre.

British Transport Police are investigating an assault which took place at High Street Train Station on the evening of Saturday, May 15.

Officers are trying to track down the man pictured, described as a white male in his 20’s, who was wearing a bright orange hooded top, navy blue tracksuit bottoms and white trainers at the time.

Police say the station and the surrounding area was very busy with football supporters at the time of the attack, amid Rangers fans' title celebrations in Glasgow city centre that day.

Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward.

British Transport Police issued a statement on the assault on Thursday morning (British Transport Police)

A British Transport Police statement issued this morning (Thursday), advised: "Detectives have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist them with their ongoing investigations into an assault which occurred at around 7pm on Saturday 15 May 2021 at High Street Railway Station, Glasgow.

"Officers would like to speak to the man in the images who they consider may have information that could help their enquiry.

"The man, who was in the area at the time, is described as a white male, 20’s, wearing a bright orange hooded top, navy blue tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

"At the time of the incident the city centre and station were extremely busy with football supporters.

"The man or anyone who recognises him can contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 214 of 16/05/21.

"Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
