Glasgow chippy Catch shortlisted for Fish and Chip Shop of the Year Award 2020

Two branches of a local chip shop have been nominated as the best fish and chip shop in Scotland.

Both the Giffnock and west end branches of Catch made the shortlist at the 2020 National Fish and Chip Awards - but they’re up against some stiff competition from elsewhere in the country.

The chippies nominated also include The Fish Works in Largs, Carron Fish Bar in Stonehaven, Dolphin Fish and Chips in Macduff and both Lows and Sea Salt + Sole in Aberdeen.

Organised by Seafish, the annual event looks at food quality, sustainable ingredients, staff training and innovative menu options for customers with allergies or dietary requirements.

Catch staff will find out if they’ve got what it takes to clinch the Scottish title at a ceremony in London on January 23 - and we’re all for a local win, especially for a chippy this good.

The full shortlist from across the UK is available here - in the meantime, good luck Catch!
