Glasgow Central trains disrupted due to signalling fault

Rail passengers are facing major disruption in and around Glasgow this afternoon due to a signalling fault near Central Station.

A number of services have been cancelled or suspended following the incident, including trains between Glasgow Central and Paisley Canal.

Services between Glasgow Central and Ayr, Gourock, Wemyss Bay Ardrossan and Largs have also been cancelled.

Network Rail are currently on site and working to resolve the issue.

A statement from ScotRail reads: "We are dealing with a signalling issue between Glasgow Central and Cardonald, Our staff have been mobilised and will arrive on site shortly. Once we have more information from the ground we will keep you updated. Check back here regularly for updates."

Ticket acceptance is in place on McGills buses between Glasgow and Paisley.
